Tiffany Lafleur has been fascinated with storytelling for as long as she can remember. From a young age her imagination would run rampant with stories – a characteristic that has only intensified as she’s gotten older. A geek for anything fantasy, these stories most usually include diverse characters in faraway worlds, living amazing adventures.
Born and raised in Montreal, Tiffany comes from a large French-Canadian family. She is a lover of animals and art, and although writing is her calling, she sometimes trades in her pen for something a little more colourful and paints or draws instead.
As a natural storyteller, it was fitting that Tiffany would direct her career choice towards journalism and communications, and spend her time telling the stories of the people in her community and beyond. Her education and work in journalism took her out of the province and out of the country to the Toronto International Film Festival and the SXSW Film Festival in Austin Texas. Setting the arts aside, Tiffany also excels at sports reporting, specifically for competitive swimming, an activity she spent many of her formative years doing herself.
However, the most fun writing for Tiffany is when she gets to share her own worlds and characters with others, and it’s not uncommon to find her tapping away at her latest story, surrounded by concept drawings, maps, and character sketches.
Tiffany is not all work and no play though, when she’s not working away on her latest project, you can find her with a book in her hand. During the long Canadian winters this means curling up with a cat to stay warm, and in the summer it means meticulously applying SPF 90 sunscreen and relaxing by the pool. Wherever she is though, she always keeps a notebook by her side to write down whatever ideas will pop into her head next.
